Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
King David’s observation:
- Belief in God can make you feel more secure and complete, but you will still have to go the dungeon if you do something wicked. “He” wants people to be nicer to each other, and to learn to back off from immoral behaviour, including the ones who go around preaching everyone they are wicked, unless of course they accept a certain type of deity, high priest or God.
Matthew 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
King David’s observation:
- God promises all wicked people go to the dungeon in order to learn not to indulge in bad behaviour again. Moreover, “he” isn’t a punisher, but a teacher, and a guide, who will help you understand that you will someday be happy, assuring you back off from crookedness.
1 John 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
King David’s observation:
- Christians don’t become “pure” if they accept Jesus, and they can still go to the dungeon if they do something immoral. Plus, there are nice people out there that aren’t Christian, who know how to treat others well, including animals.
- Jesus seems to imply that we’re all full of sin, and much of what we do is sinful. Then, we cannot be human if we want to win the checker game, or munch on those delicious, spicy Cheetos, or even make love to our soul mate freely. Yeah, and there is nothing wrong with healthy desire, right? True, and not everyone is a corrupt type, and the ones who are can learn to back off.
- However, it does help to talk about the evil things you might have done, in order to free yourself, to take yourself out of that criminal rut you may have lived in.
- God knows what forgiveness means, but is more interested in people walking away from forever from crookedness, and to learn how to be nicer to others.
- God will tell you “You can play lacrosse, and enjoy your Sunday BBQs, as long as you never swindle from others again.”
