Christians affirm this is referring to a resurrected King David who will rule with Jesus, or are referencing to Jesus as the servant. And the Jewish scholars state it’s a description of the Messiah, who is a descendant of King David. However, some do claim that King David may be resurrected to fulfill this:
Ezekiel 37:24 The Stone Edition My servant David will be king over them, and there will be one shepherd for all of them, they will follow My ordinances and keep My decrees and fulfill them. 25 They will dwell on the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, within which your fathers dwelled; they and their children and their children’s children will dwell upon it forever; and My servant David will be a leader for them forever.
Unfortunately, I’m not really sure if I’m the same King David of the old, as he may be perhaps like a father in a spiritual sense, such as that of the lineage?
Jeremiah 23:5 The Stone Edition Behold, days are coming — the word of HASHEM — when I will establish a righteous sprout from David; a king will reign and prosper and he will administer justice and righteousness in the land.
