It is true the tanakh speaks of cons around us:
Jeremiah 23:16 The Stone Edition “Thus said HASHEM, Master of Legions: Pay no heed to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you; they are deluding you. They speak the vision of their own heart, not of the mouth of HASHEM.”
I have no interest in joking around about that type of thing. I could be funny and dress up as Jesus, yet I don’t look remotely like that Italian-looking man, unless he was really from Turkey or Romania to begin with? He doesn’t have that Israeli appearance, so am I supposed to think that he was really born in Bethlehem?
Yeah, I’m being truthful and there’s no time for humour, unfortunately.
Well, anyway. What if God punishes me for joking around about the Messiah? Even, if say I were an atheist, there could still be some fear bubbling out of me about the possibility of facing God’s wrath?
And, again God doesn’t get angry, and instead says “What have you yet learned? Into the dungeon, is the truth. I am still with you, kiddos. And be patient.”
